We recommend the following privacy and security best practices while using Tranquility

  • Email address: It is strongly recommended that you always use the same email for accessing the platform and ensure it is a password-protected email address that is not shared with others and only you can access (for example, if you are using an email address shared with other family members, they will be able to see messages received from Tranquility). In the event you change your email address, contact support@tranquility.app to access the Tranquility> platform.

  • Password protection: To access the iCBT service, you will have a login to a secure website. It is strongly recommended to choose a unique password and keep it private. If using a shared device, you will want to ensure you log out after every use and your password is not stored.

  • Multi-factor Authentication: Inkblot encourages all users of the platform to add multi-factor authentication (MFA). This greatly increases the security of your account. MFA is an additional layer of security added to the login process the relies on two forms of authentication: something you know, and something you have with you. The something you know is your password and the something that you have can be a mobile phone. This ensures that even if your password is compromised your account is still safe, because even if someone else has your password, they don’t have your phone (the second layer of security). We provide the option to add SMS based multi-factor authentication or the ability to use Google Authenticator or similar application.

  • Check your technology: Laptops or desktops may work better for you then tablets or cell phones. To take advantage of the latest security features, ensure your devices regularly update their operating systems and security software.

  • Secure Wi-Fi: Using a home or private network is more secure then using a public Wi-Fi connection.

  • Privacy: Be aware of your surroundings when using the iCBT service. Consider a private space to complete any homework or activities as they may contain private information you may not want to share with others. You may also consider using headphones to listen to videos for example. If you do choose to access the service in a public space, ensure you are keeping your personal information private so it cannot be misused by those around you.

  • If at any point you think your account may have been compromised, contact Tranquility’s Client Care immediately at support@tranquility.app
